Situated between the Yorkshire Dales to the East, the Forest of Bowland to the West and Ribble Valley/Pendle to the South, Tosside village is surrounded by picturesque countryside and many interesting places to visit. The Community Hall provides a central venue and point of focus for family-based social events within the Tosside area.

Directions

Situated on the B6478 travel north from Clitheroe, through Newton and Slaidburn, or from the A65 turn onto the B6478 at Long Preston and travel west through Wigglesworth and on to Tosside.

Parking

Parking is available for in excess of 40 vehicles at the Hall and on our new overflow car park.

Access

All facilities within the Community Hall have been designed to allow for wheelchair access and there is disabled parking available at the Hall. The Hall has one large room suitable for functions of up to 200 people, and a smaller room suitable for meetings which will comfortably seat 15-20 people. The building has been equipped with all modern technology and can provide state-of-the-art audio-visual and computing facilities supported by high-speed ADSL (“broadband”) digital communication and overhead projection facilities for business meetings and training courses.

There is a large well-equipped catering kitchen with cutlery and crockery and a bar stocked with most popular drinks at competitive prices.

Other things to do nearby

Tosside is just less than 200M above sea level and so enjoys elevated views over the surrounding countryside; in particular of both the the Craven and Ribble valleys.  There are excellent views of both Pen-y-Ghent and Pendle Hill - the latter being famous for the tales of the Pendle Witches!

Gisburn Forest, the largest coniferous forest in Lancashire, adjoins the village to the North-West and provides excellent way-marked routes for off-road cycling, walking and generally enjoying the countryside.  For further details and information contact the Forestry Commission on 01229-860010.
Nearby Stocks Reservoir is likely to be of interest to both fly fishermen and ornithologists alike.

Excellent meals made from locally-sourced food are provided  at the local cycling cafe and  the Crowtrees Inn (01729-840591).

The attractive market town of Settle is around nine miles away with its busy market held every Tuesday.
