Other things to do nearby
Tosside is just less than 200M above sea level and so enjoys elevated views over the surrounding countryside; in particular of both the the Craven and Ribble valleys. There are excellent views of both Pen-y-Ghent and Pendle Hill - the latter being famous for the tales of the Pendle Witches!
Gisburn Forest, the largest coniferous forest in Lancashire, adjoins the village to the North-West and provides excellent way-marked routes for off-road cycling, walking and generally enjoying the countryside. For further details and information contact the Forestry Commission on 01229-860010.
Nearby Stocks Reservoir is likely to be of interest to both fly fishermen and ornithologists alike.
Excellent meals made from locally-sourced food are provided at the local cycling cafe and the Crowtrees Inn (01729-840591).
The attractive market town of Settle is around nine miles away with its busy market held every Tuesday.
